The Bear is Back.

He’s back…and he’s ready for some puck, ya’ll. Check out his new video, co-starring Brad “Motoscooter” Marchand here. Also, notice what is on top of Bear’s “Cup”. That ain’t no colander…

Because We Say So.

It’s time to predict the eventual winners for the 2011-2012 season, so we can look smart and important when spring rolls around.  Or not.  Last year we all picked some combo of the Caps, Blackhawks, Canucks and Penguins [link].  That 25% result is less than the chance that Intern Jeff Skinner’s going to take you […]

Put a Ring on it.

A Stanley Cup ring, that is. Check that out!  That ring = boss. 300 diamonds total.  66 on the ring crest with the iconic spoked “B” over the image of the Stanley Cup.  6 diamonds around the logo signifying the Bruins’ six Cup championships.  One side has the player’s name and number, other side has […]

Teen Wolf becomes…Derek Zoolander?

Oh Tyler Seguin. Please stop making us fall in love with you. Watch this video from Tyler’s day at the B’s Annual Photo/Video Shoot.  Trust me it is worth it. Especially when he asks the photog to facebook the photos to his mom.  And then when he claims to look all “innocent” is said photographs. Oh […]

Fall Down, Go Boom.

Well, folks, it was bound to happen. Stanley is a little banged up, thanks to former Bruin Michael “Cool” Ryder and a flimsy Nova Scotian card table. To which my friend Fatty J exclaimed, “Jesus Michael!” Dios mios indeed! What is that table made out of anyway?  Paper mache and matchsticks? You’d think that they’d […]

Howl at the Moon

I have lost Chuck a midst the mess of this office.  She’s probably buried under a pile of old Jets jerseys and cannot reach her keyboard, which is the only reason she hasn’t posted this. Teen Wolf had his day with the Cup in Ontario last week.  You can watch the video [link].  I really wish I’d ridden […]

Roll out the Black and Gold Carpet!

Last night, the Bruins premiered their DVD at the cinema in downtown Boston. I, sadly, was not there.  My invite must have gotten lost in the mail. But Andrew Ference, Shawn Thornton, and Brad Marchand were there. And they brought the Cup along for all to see.

A picture from my wedding!

Okay, not quite.  While Chuck was indeed within a few feet of asking Tyler Seguin to be her +1, he would have had to keep his shirt on the whole time because there were kids and grandmothers.  Plenty of people make this face while dancing though.  Not sure what good Ty’s belt is doing here… […]

Bromances EVERYWHERE!

When hockey players are this happy, so are we. So much love. [brightcove vid=995747704001&exp3=16977198001&surl=http://c.brightcove.com/services&pubid=245991542&pk=AQ~~,AAAAAA6piHY~,DqRT40XOAr8wI0s0AlLx8-XNKKxaCNBM&w=440&h=356]

Yes, that really did happen.

“The Bruins have won the Stanley Cup!” Those words will live with me for the rest of my life. For the first time since 1972, the Black and Gold have won the most beauteous and shiniest of all trophies in professional sports.  The Bruins defeated the Vancouver Canucks, a team which lead the regular season […]

Last Days of Disco

On a scale of one to these shoes, how excited would you be if your boyfriend just won the Stanley Cup?  (Or was Milan Lucic, whichever.) Obviously she knew the B’s would win.  These should don’t do bad days. Chuck, when you pick up Seguin for the wedding ask to borrow these too.

This one's for Chuck

Congratulations to the Boston Bruins and to Chuck!

Bear vs. Orca

Well, here we are. Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Bruins vs. Canucks. East vs. West. Bear vs. Orca. For fans of both teams, tonight will be a special game.  History will be made. Bruins have the opportunity to win their first Cup in 39 years.  Canucks have the chance to win their first […]

This One's For Boston.

I can be open-minded and empathetic – while I am rooting for Vancouver, I’m not blind that for Chuck and Cassy and some of our other loyal readers, this is a, uh, how shall a put this, more passionate endeavor. For me, I love the Stanley Cup Play-Offs right now because we are getting to see a […]

Go-Go Vancouver!

God Love The Hockey News! It is so much better than Sports Castrated. THN has the best cartoons and really, isn’t that why we read things anyway? The pictures? Words just get in the way. Anyway, to even things out here since it’s been all Boston and Bears, I give you the best cartoon EVER […]

Chuck checks one off her bucket list.

Last night, I had the time of my life. Just like Baby in “Dirty Dancing.”  Except instead of Johnny Castle, I had Tim Thomas. Thanks to a one very awesome friend, I was at Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals at TD Garden. Bruins shutout the Canucks, 4-0  to even the series 2-2.  Series […]

Mess with the Bear, You get the Claws

The Boston Bruins came into Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals last night needed a win to avoid going down 3-0 to the Vancouver Canucks. Well, they got that win…and then some. They mauled the Canucks with their big, sharp claws. Bear’s Victory Dance is well deserved. Bruins play best when they are infuriated.  Aaron Rome gave […]

Birthday Boy: Milan Lucic

Happy 23rd birthday, Looch! An exhaustive 3-minute Google search revealed these reasons you should root for Milan and the Bruins [link]: If asked, he would be on Dancing with the Stars. Armageddon makes him cry.  US TOO! At karaoke, he sings “Beer for My Horses” by Toby Keith. Oh, and there’s the beard.  And the Cup Final. […]

I Get Knocked Down…But I Get Up Again…

Last night’s game was the most exhilarating, exciting, intense Stanley Cup Finals game that I have seen in recent memory. It also happened to be totally crappy and soul-sucking. As the tornado watch loomed over the city of Boston, the thunder boomed, and lightning lit up the sky like a Polish dyskotekya, the Bruins were […]

Make Way for Ducklings!

Everyone’s got Black and Gold fever in Boston… Including these little ones… and this guy too!
