Remembering Jack Falla. Writer. Teacher. Backyard Rink Builder.

3 years ago, the hockey world lost a legend. Jack Falla wasn’t just a great writer. He was a father.  A grandfather.   A husband.  A teacher.  A friend. He was an inspiration to many sports and hockey journalists (including me!), so it is today that we remember his life, his talent, and his humor. Check out his […]

Henrik Lundqvist Loves Me

Tweets of the day… I made Henrik Lundqvist giggle.  For serious. I might have even made him blush. He’s totally in love with me. God, he’s attractive. Killing us with those dimples. And the hair… Glorious. Watch full video here – http://yfrog.com/0iu43z ADDENDUM: And then Pants and I have this conversation after she refers to HL30 […]

Happy Birthday to Us!

What’s Up, Ya Sieve? turns 1 today! So you know what that mean… Cake. Mexican Coca-Colas. Office Dance Party. More cake. Glitter…so much glitter… and this… 365 days and here we are! We’ve had almost 200,000 hits, which we can honestly say we never expected.  We thought we’d be lucky if we got 200, not counting the 195 […]

Hot or Not?

Chuck spent some quality time with Brent Burns this past weekend so I gotta ask, Hot or Not with his new tat? You make the call. Because I know if Pants wasn’t married already, this would be her DREAM BOY! Photo courtesy of Puck Daddy. BTW – his comment when asked about the fresh ink, “Hogwarts looks fun!” […]

Show Me Your Teeth!

Ok – anyone see “I Spit On Your Grave”? Nevermind … this photo just reminds me of a scene from it, in a very twisted way. A faux-Stanley cup for anyone who can name this tow-headed NHL all-star, grinning to winning!

Howl at the Moon

I have lost Chuck a midst the mess of this office.  She’s probably buried under a pile of old Jets jerseys and cannot reach her keyboard, which is the only reason she hasn’t posted this. Teen Wolf had his day with the Cup in Ontario last week.  You can watch the video [link].  I really wish I’d ridden […]

Roll out the Black and Gold Carpet!

Last night, the Bruins premiered their DVD at the cinema in downtown Boston. I, sadly, was not there.  My invite must have gotten lost in the mail. But Andrew Ference, Shawn Thornton, and Brad Marchand were there. And they brought the Cup along for all to see.

Bye Bye Beardy?

Who’s gonna keep their playoff beard?  Who’s ready to say goodbye? Check out 0:23 mark. Best faces ever! Someone please GIF these for us.  Please? Yes, that really did happen.

“The Bruins have won the Stanley Cup!” Those words will live with me for the rest of my life. For the first time since 1972, the Black and Gold have won the most beauteous and shiniest of all trophies in professional sports.  The Bruins defeated the Vancouver Canucks, a team which lead the regular season […]

This one's for Chuck

Congratulations to the Boston Bruins and to Chuck!

Bear vs. Orca

Well, here we are. Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Bruins vs. Canucks. East vs. West. Bear vs. Orca. For fans of both teams, tonight will be a special game.  History will be made. Bruins have the opportunity to win their first Cup in 39 years.  Canucks have the chance to win their first […]

This One's For Boston.

I can be open-minded and empathetic – while I am rooting for Vancouver, I’m not blind that for Chuck and Cassy and some of our other loyal readers, this is a, uh, how shall a put this, more passionate endeavor. For me, I love the Stanley Cup Play-Offs right now because we are getting to see a […]

Chuck checks one off her bucket list.

Last night, I had the time of my life. Just like Baby in “Dirty Dancing.”  Except instead of Johnny Castle, I had Tim Thomas. Thanks to a one very awesome friend, I was at Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Finals at TD Garden. Bruins shutout the Canucks, 4-0  to even the series 2-2.  Series […]

Mess with the Bear, You get the Claws

The Boston Bruins came into Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals last night needed a win to avoid going down 3-0 to the Vancouver Canucks. Well, they got that win…and then some. They mauled the Canucks with their big, sharp claws. Bear’s Victory Dance is well deserved. Bruins play best when they are infuriated.  Aaron Rome gave […]

Birthday Boy: Milan Lucic

Happy 23rd birthday, Looch! An exhaustive 3-minute Google search revealed these reasons you should root for Milan and the Bruins [link]: If asked, he would be on Dancing with the Stars. Armageddon makes him cry.  US TOO! At karaoke, he sings “Beer for My Horses” by Toby Keith. Oh, and there’s the beard.  And the Cup Final. […]

Waiting for Tonight…

I’m like a kid on Christmas morning! Is this really happening?  Is the team that I’ve rooted for and cheered for all season really in the Stanley Cup Finals? Hell ya, they are! Bruins and Canucks will face off at 8pm EST in Game 1 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals.  I’m supposed to have […]

The Day Has Come

It’s time for the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals.  At the end, I will no longer be able say “Defending Stanley Cup Champion Chicago Blackhawks” and I’ll be so sad.  But maybe Chuck will get to say that about the Bruins!!  Is everyone ready? Tyler Seguin’s all: While RK17 is like: And you know those cute […]

True Story

Chuck (Ron) and Pants (Harry), circa Bruins/Lightning Game 7. Stamkos gets hit in the face: The Bruins score to take a 1-0 lead: The game ends: Yes Chuck, that really happened!!  Congratulations to the Bruins.  Make room for me on your wagon because we’re going to Vancouver!

It'll only takes one…

The Bruins are one win away from the Stanley Cup Finals. One win.  One measly little win. It is so close, we can taste it. Yesterday’s 3-1 win over the Lightning was not pretty by any means, but it is a “W” nonetheless. Bruins’ d-men looks shaky and slow.  Communication between Timmay and ZC33, AF21, […]

Foxy Friday: Tyler Seguin

Let’s face it folks, it was only a matter of time before this post was going to happen. FOXY FRIDAY: Tyler Seguin On Monday, Tyler Seguin was just a baby caterpillar in his little cocoon.  On Tuesday, he emerged as a beauty butterfly with black and gold wings. Seguin is this week’s Foxy Friday because he has left a […]
