Stop the Madness

Did Saturday’s Bruins/Pens debacle really happen?  I kept hoping to wake up and find that it was all just a horrible dream.  But alas, it was not. That mess really did happen.  I’m disgusted in both teams because they are better than that. They have really made me mad.  Like flames on the side of […]

Just Give Me a Reason

I suppose we need to talk about this.  I really don’t want to. I hate the Bruins.  Chuck hates the Penguins.  And while there’s plenty to shout about the opposition in last night’s debacle, it left more than enough responsibility for our own teams.  Two incidents, two aggressors, two outcomes.  I’ll leave it to Chuck […]

Pucks and Pups: The Bruins Edition

Hockey players.  Puppies. Two of the things we love most in the world. Put them together and let the seal-clapping and squeeeeeing commence. The Boston Bruins released their own 2014 calendar – just in time for the holiday season, natch – and here are some of the highlights I have no idea what is going […]

60 Minutes

Last night, Bruins finally managed to put together a solid “60 minute effort”, as the kids like to say.  You know who is happy? Granted it was against the Carolina Hurricanes, who are taking a long ride on the struggle bus, but the effort was the Bruins’ most consistent of the season and they were […]

Summer Nights

Oh for heaven’s sake.  Come home from tropical vacation, depressed about going back to work?  Sidney Crosby to the rescue. [Sorry y’all, copyrighted photos from this post were removed by request.  You’ll have the survive on screencaps from the CTV interview linked below.] Sid and Brand Marchand took part in the Phoenix Night of Champions […]

You Oughta Know

Battle of the Blog: Game One Since Chuck and I are not talking, I have no idea if she’s planning to write this same post today.  You guys can tell me later. So, Saturday night was exciting, yes?  Too exciting.  Run-and-gun hockey is fun to watch only if: the puck goes in the net. it’s […]

Must See TV

Do yourself a favor. Click on the image below. Watch the video. Totes brilliant, right?  LOVE IT!! Screen capping GOLD!

When they show a hockey player…DRINK!

All-Star Weekend is our 2nd favorite time of the year here at WUYS (behind the awkberg assemblage that is the NHL Awards) and since Pants is off on her honeymoon getting all tan, hanging with monkeys, drinking umbrella drinks and being all in lurve, it’s going to be really lonely around here this weekend. So to […]

Shanabanned: Brad Marchand

Let’s face it people. This was bound to happen. Twas only a matter of time until the “Lil’ Ball of Hate” aka “Squirrel” aka “Marshamont” did a bad, bad thing and got himself Shanabanned. Marchand has been suspended for five games and will forfeit $152,439.02 for clipping Vancouver Canucks defenseman Sami Salo during  Saturday’s game.  Marchand will miss games vs. […]

Chuck's Christmas

Merry Christmas Eve!  Rudolph had the night off to carbo load but the Boston Bruins scored one goal for each of Santa’s other reindeer.  That’s right, the Bruins scored 8 goals.  The Panthers scored zero.  I know Chuck would want you to see this: I cannot recall a prettier goal this season.  Marchand had a […]

They're Sexy and They Know It

If it wasn’t for WUYS fan Carter, aka @thekitchenette, I totally would have missed this. And that would have been a real shame. Darth Quiader and Tuuuuukkkkkaaa showing us all why we should cast them in the remake of “Newsies” How much you want to bet Seguin has a matching fedora?  They are in a […]

Happy Halloween from the Boston Bruins!

Zdeno Chara, Brad Marchand, Adam “Darth Quaider” McQuiad, and Jordan Caron visited sick kids at Children’s Hospital in Boston yesterday. They wore this. Chara + giant pink bunny costume = amazeballs. We laugh for days and days and days. Sorta reminds us of A Christmas Story. Kudos to Big Z and the other guys for not […]

Pomp and Circumstance

This whole grad school business is going to seriously cut into my hockey watching time. Class this semester is on Thursdays, which means that I’m going to have to tape alot of games this year, only to watch them when I get home at 9:30pm. Chuck no likey. Yesterday, I taped the Bruins game (natch) […]

This Time of Year

The moment you’ve all been waiting for has almost arrived. The NHL 2011-2012 season kick off tomorrow, and it’s about damned time.  We’re are packed and ready to go: Pants survived a pre-season crisis at the Capitals/Blackhawks game when she felt compelled to cheer for the Caps.  Over the Hawks.  Tazer/Kaner vs. Nicky/Mikey?  This is […]

Put a Ring on it.

A Stanley Cup ring, that is. Check that out!  That ring = boss. 300 diamonds total.  66 on the ring crest with the iconic spoked “B” over the image of the Stanley Cup.  6 diamonds around the logo signifying the Bruins’ six Cup championships.  One side has the player’s name and number, other side has […]

Roll out the Black and Gold Carpet!

Last night, the Bruins premiered their DVD at the cinema in downtown Boston. I, sadly, was not there.  My invite must have gotten lost in the mail. But Andrew Ference, Shawn Thornton, and Brad Marchand were there. And they brought the Cup along for all to see.

Yes, that really did happen.

“The Bruins have won the Stanley Cup!” Those words will live with me for the rest of my life. For the first time since 1972, the Black and Gold have won the most beauteous and shiniest of all trophies in professional sports.  The Bruins defeated the Vancouver Canucks, a team which lead the regular season […]

Mess with the Bear, You get the Claws

The Boston Bruins came into Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Finals last night needed a win to avoid going down 3-0 to the Vancouver Canucks. Well, they got that win…and then some. They mauled the Canucks with their big, sharp claws. Bear’s Victory Dance is well deserved. Bruins play best when they are infuriated.  Aaron Rome gave […]

Waiting for Tonight…

I’m like a kid on Christmas morning! Is this really happening?  Is the team that I’ve rooted for and cheered for all season really in the Stanley Cup Finals? Hell ya, they are! Bruins and Canucks will face off at 8pm EST in Game 1 of the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals.  I’m supposed to have […]

It'll only takes one…

The Bruins are one win away from the Stanley Cup Finals. One win.  One measly little win. It is so close, we can taste it. Yesterday’s 3-1 win over the Lightning was not pretty by any means, but it is a “W” nonetheless. Bruins’ d-men looks shaky and slow.  Communication between Timmay and ZC33, AF21, […]
