I Can't Take It Anymore

If I ignore this long enough, maybe it will just go away.  It’ll be October and he’ll be out there and everything will be right with the world.  I don’t care if you hate Sid and the Pens or rainbows and cupcakes and money.  You cannot want to see a premiere player out of the game.  Hell, I’d even miss Ovi.

We all know Crosby is non-contact practicing and may not be ready for the start of camp.  Or the start of the regular season.  Or my birthday party, which is gonna be really lame then because who will jump out of my cake?!

Seriously though.  The Pens finally announced he’s seeing specialists all over the country [link].  Everybody’s asking and it’s eggshells everywhere.  People are really getting down.  On Monday, Toronto Star columnist Cathal Kelly suggested Crosby should retire.  I want Sid to be well more than anything so I cannot disparage some of her reasoning.  But listen lady, you’re way ahead of yourself.  You need to STFU.  And if Troy Crosby’s tired after calling ESPN Radio himself back in March, he can tap out and I’ll take over.

What we need is the Power of Positive Thinking!  Stamkos has it:

“Sidney’s a great player, he’s a great ambassador for the game,” [Stamkos] said. “Hopefully, he’s back 100 per cent at the beginning of the season.” – The Hockey News [link]

We need to have a prayer circle and be patient and try to hold it together.  Whenever the time comes that The Kid is back, you know there will be goals galore and WUYS pandemonium.  We’ve been saving up.

Love the animations! Honestly, I hope he gets better – despite my unconditional loyalty to Boston and Patrice Bergeron, (he needs to pop out of my cake. a little help with that?).

However, concussions are extremely serious so yes, we need a prayer circle. 🙂

I’ve got dibs on Patrice Bergeron jumping out of my cake first unless you’re birthday is before mine 😉

And yes to prayer circle. Let’s do one on Skype rofl

  2. I read that article yesterday and I felt like somebody had punched me in the gut. “No timetable,” “experiencing headaches” Ohhh Sid, please put a big ol’ bandaid on your brain booboo and come back!!!

    • Exactly, I hope he comes back. Between him and Ovi, they brought a lot of attention back to the game. I don’t know how the hockey world would react to him retiring after 6 short years.

  3. Totes agree with the Toronto Star column. Shut it, beotch. Can you imagine how terrible that would be for Sid if he didn’t get to play the game he loved?

More than anything, just concerned for the Croz (thank you, Canadian Tire commercial!) and his family. Must be so stressful to have the barrage of reporters breathing down your neck, “demanding” a statement as Jeff Marek said. Crosby doesn’t owe anyone anything and rumours don’t help.

Poeople just need to back off and let Sid get better. I’m relieved that the specialists have told Crosby they’re not concerned long-term, it’s still just a short-term issue. When he’s ready he’ll come back. And if not I’ll cry rivers of tears.

Let me know when the next Crosby prayer circle is in session – I’m totally there.

    • Isn’t The Croz from a SportChek commercial? Jeeeez Lindsay.

I’m not much of a Pens fan, or a Crosby fan, but I think it would be horrible if he had to retire so young. I sincerely hope he plays, soon.

      • Do you see this? I am so severely traumatized by the Crosby news I’m getting his endorsements wrong. Take away my fangirl title. I don’t deserve it anymore.

Double embarrassement for the fact that I’m Canadian. Or at least my passport says I am.

  4. I don’t like thinking about Sid not coming back…much like I refuse to think about Marc Savard not coming back…

    I can’t….

Our brains are in sync Chuck, and we’re not on the same side of the Atlantic at present.

Savvy announces his retirement and I’m right with you on wearing black, a veil and wailing outside the Garden…
