We at WUYS love St. Patrick’s Day for many reasons: beer, Irish accents, beer, Westlife, corned beef & cabbage, Boston, beer, kilts, Westlife. We don’t really understand why the NHL loves St. Patrick’s Day so much, but we like it.

If you’re going to pick a random holiday, we’re all for SPD. What could be more fun? And in the middle of the playoff race it’s generally when regular season attention is peaking. Dawn and I both own SPD-edition shirts – mine is Crosby, her’s is Ovi. Is that what they mean by fighting Irish?

A year ago today I was recovering from a hangover induced by drinking American wine at the Garden, during the whole 2010 40th Anniversary Stanley Cup party. Whilst still sober, I discussed the merits of Boss v Armani with Stanley himself, but sadly the big Cup was too overwhelmed with his surroundings to comment on the team’s suits. I may or may not have been wearing my Penguins St Paddy’s Day boxers under my frock :D.
Right now I am sitting at home in the UK, wishing I was heading to my first NHL hockey game (as I was last year), wearing my American Eagle St Paddy’s day t-shirt.
There are no green beads, Chinese Irish or green beer here. All I’ve seen are some poxy Guinness hats about…

My lucky St Patrick’s pants arrived! Unfortunately I wasn’t in for the delivery, so I got them the day after, but am now sleeping in my Savvy t-shirt. 😀
